Overview

Munchkin is currently seeking an experienced Web Applications Developer. This position will report directly to the Driector of Information Technology.

JOB SUMMARY:
Active participation in the design, development, implementation, and documentation stages of the system development life-cycle including analysis, design, coding, documentation, testing, implementation, and training for web enabled applications.
Responsibility for understanding business processes and applying that knowledge to the data requirements, automated business solutions, integration issues related.
Responsibility for timely response to business clients when diagnosing and resolving support problems
Responsibility for supporting production applications, including on-call support.
Write well-commented code and adhere to naming conventions. Submit code for review and adhere to the standards established by team leads.
Create weekly status report to inform management of project status, estimated completion dates and any other issues for management attention.
Other duties may be assigned as required.



Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain Company Web Applications
  • Develop and maintain ASP internal applications (ASP.net is a plus) with SQL Server 2000/2005. Write T-SQL queries, triggers and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain PHP external website applications with MySQL database
  • Write requirements, design solution, develop application, perform testing and end-user training.
  • Maintain IIS and Apache servers
  • Knowledge of Oracle DB (9i, 10g) and Oracle E-business 11.5.10 is a plus.
  • Maintain Web Applications Databases
  • Monitor performance
  • Troubleshoot issues
  • Perform performance tuning
  • Make recommendations for hardware upgrades

 

SECONDARY DUTIES

  • End user Support for PC, Mac, and Mobile solutions (PDA/Cell/Blackberry)
  • Track and Monitor existing and potential computer problems.
  • Maintains department helpdesk system
  • Develop desktop procedures and training guides
  • Network Administration/Engineering Duties
  • User/Group Administration tasks including adding new users, groups, and rights using Active Directory
  • Exchange/Outlook E-mail Support including add/remove users, distribution list, and backup/restore of e-mails
  • Maintain Network Printing. This includes basic queue administration, monitoring of traffic, and addition/deletion of print queues as needed.
  • Supporting hosted servers including Web, MAIL, FTP, and Oracle Servers.
  • Oracle Applications Support
  • Second line of contact for all Oracle Applications including network, application, and database issues.

 

Experience Required

 

  • 2 to 4 years of web applications development with HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, ASP, PHP, AJAX, CSS, Flash
  • 2-4 years of relational database and SQL experience. (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle 9i,10g)
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers and data access optimization techniques
  • 2-4 years of experience with Windows Server 2000 or above
  • 2-4 years experience working with the LAMP platform
  • Desired: Working knowledge of network concepts including topologies, cabling, LAN/WAN, switches, hubs, routers, and telecom.
  • Desired: Working knowledge of MAC OS X operating systems.
  • Desired: Working knowledge of Exchange 2003 and Active Directory
  • Strong Customer Service Support skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Four-year college degree and/or MCSA or equivalent certification with minimum 4 years experience
