04-17-07

NORTH HILLS, CALIF., (April 17, 2007) - Munchkin, Inc., maker of clever infant and toddler products, has been nominated for the leading international honor for the Web - a Webby Award. The Webby Awards attract more than 8,000 entrants from diverse industries around the world, making this the most prestigious Internet award in the world.

The Webby Award winners are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences based on a variety of creative and functional criteria.  As one of five finalists in the Family/Parenting category, the Munchkin website has been recognized for its excellence in content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity and overall experience.

"Our website is an important extension of our creativity and our commitment to innovation," said Doug Gillespie, Vice President of Marketing, Munchkin, Inc. "We have received outstanding feedback from parents on our website, and it is a tremendous honor to also be recognized by the Webby Awards."

The Munchkin website was revamped last year as part of a new branding initiative that has already delivered exceptional results in the marketplace.  Munchkin partnered with the advertising, branding and interactive agency The UXB® to create its new website (www.munchkin.com).  It features easy-to-navigate menus, bold colors and a clean design.  Highlights that resonate most with today's modern mom include the helpful store locator powered by Google® technology as well as an innovative baby registry feature.

NancyJane Goldston, the CEO of The UXB noted, "Munchkin, Inc. is dedicated to continually innovating within its product sector. With that in mind, The UXB felt comfortable pursuing a highly creative and innovative site design, which has played to rave reviews within both the consumer and retail segments."

As a nominee for a Webby Award, Munchkin is also eligible to win a People's Voice Award.  The People's Voice Awards allow consumers all over the world to vote on the nominees that are their favorites.  The People's Voice Award invites the online public to select a winner now through April 27th at http://peoplesvoice.webbyawards.com. Parents are encouraged to cast their vote and show the world why the Munchkin site stands out above the rest.

Winners of the 2007 Webby Awards will be announced on May 1, 2007 and honored at The 11th Annual Webby Awards in New York City on June 5, 2007.
