MUNCHKINŽ ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ITS SECOND ANNUAL PROJECT PINK BREAST CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

08-09-07

(NORTH HILLS, Calif., August 9, 2007) - Munchkin, Inc. - maker of award-winning infant and toddler products - is once again reminding women everywhere "Don't Duck a Breast Exam" with the return of its successful Project Pink breast cancer awareness campaign.  This morning, flocks of Munchkin's limited edition pink safety bath ducks were released for sale with net proceeds earmarked for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the leader in the breast cancer movement.

Munchkin will donate to Komen for the Cure a minimum of $.20 or 100% of net proceeds (whichever is greater) for each pink duck sold from June 1 through November 30, 2007, with a minimum guaranteed donation of $10,000.  Last year, Munchkin's Project Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign exceeded goals through the sale of over 70,000 ducks, raising more than $30,000 for breast cancer research and community outreach programs, including education, screening and treatment.

Consumers wanting to join Munchkin in its fight against breast cancer can find the pink ducks online at www.munchkin/projectpink.com starting today.  More ducks will waddle into retail stores by mid-September.

Although the campaign culminates in October during breast cancer awareness month, Munchkin is encouraging early detection throughout the year and giving consumers a reason to begin contributing today.  Consumers can go to www.munchkin/projectpink.com and electronically decorate a pink duck, which they can then e-mail to friends and family and Munchkin will donate five cents for each e-mail forwarded.  To demonstrate the difference one e-mail can make, the site will track the geographic flight pattern of each "duck" and the amount it has helped raise for breast cancer research.

Adding to the excitement, Munchkin is launching a national duck decorating contest where consumers are encouraged to creatively decorate a Munchkin pink duck, take a photo, and send it to Munchkin for a chance to win cool prizes.  Participants are also given the opportunity to dedicate their duck to a loved one or share their stories, experiences, and personal connections to the cause.  Prizes will include housekeeping services for up to twelve months, a $500 spa gift certificate and Munchkin gift baskets.

To top it off, Munchkin has also invited celebrities to use their influence to help spread the message of early breast cancer detection and raise money for the cause by decorating, signing and allowing Munchkin to auction the ducks on eBay with proceeds going to Komen for the Cure. Celebrities such as Brooke Shields, Mariska Hargitay, Marsha Cross and Courteney Cox and David Arquette have already lent their support.

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
