NORTH HILLS, Calif. (July 22, 2010) Munchkin, Inc., leading designer and manufacturer of clever infant and toddler products, and parent to pet care division Bamboo®, today announced that it has formed, for the first time, a marketing communications department. The new department will service both the infant/toddler and pet care divisions of the corporation.

Amy Osete, vice president of communications, will lead the development of the newly created department, which is focused on executing marketing strategies in digital and traditional mediums. Osete’s former title was vice president of marketing, leading the pet division to oversee growth of the Bamboo and Fat Cat brands. She will continue to manage the pet division daily operations including marketing, advertising and product development.

New hire Jennifer Campana, communications manager, will report to Amy Osete and lead traditional and digital public relations efforts, including a much stronger and more strategic push into social media. Campana is a 15-year communications industry veteran, with prior experience in youth products and pop culture/mass market brands.

“At Munchkin, we seek to be thought leaders in not only developing baby and toddler products, but also in how we market them,” said Steven Dunn, chairman and CEO, Munchkin, Inc. “Our new marketing communications department will make sure we are going beyond just reaching our audiences by finding creative and strategic ways to influence and interact with them.”

In addition to traditional and digital public relations, this new team will be responsible for advertising, print and electronic collateral materials, and interactive/Web initiatives.
