TEDx Talk & The Whale Sanctuary Project

In 2015 Munchkin started Project Orca, a program dedicated to the releasing of whales held in captivity at Sea World and other similar programs. We pledged a kick-start donation of a million dollars to the Whale Sanctuary Project, an institution that is building the first-ever seaside sanctuary for whales in captivity.

This weekend, our friends at The Whale Sanctuary Project are hosting a TEDx Talk about this initiative on Saturday, November 11 at 1 pm ET. Charles Vinick, Executive Director of the Whale Sanctuary Project, will be talking about their work to have whales in captivity retired to seaside sanctuaries.

“Captive whales,” he says, “have raised millions of dollars for their owners, and have entertained millions of people. Don’t we owe them something in return?”

If you’re in Southern California and would like to attend this TEDx Talk you can register here. The talk will also be streaming live
