How to Clean a Fresh Food Feeder

Fresh food feeders are a fun way to introduce new foods for mom and baby, but cleaning them can be tricky. Learn step by step how to get your Munchkin fresh food feeder clean with our video tutorial.

Your baby is eating solids now and snack time is in full swing! We hear a lot about how much parents love our Fresh Food Feeder for snacking and on the go. The mesh pouch makes introducing new foods to baby so easy and helps keep your mind at ease when it comes to providing baby with larger pieces of food without the choking hazard!

After use, we know that getting the mesh pocket can be, well, a little bit challenging. We’ve put together a quick video tutorial on how to clean a mesh food feeder here or read the steps below!

How to Clean a Fresh Food Feeder

Step 1: Leave it to soak

Food particles are infamous for getting stuck and dried onto the mesh portion of the Fresh Food Feeder, so it’s essential you let it soak in hot soapy water for up to 5 minutes. If you feel like the feeder is extra sticky and messy, leave it in there a little longer.

Step 2: Use a multi-size brush system

Using our Details brush set, use the wide, short brush (green) to begin scrubbing inside the mesh pocket, outside the mesh pocket, and around the clasp. Follow with a long and skinny brush (pink) to get deep into the mesh pocket. Insider tip: Flip the mesh pocket inside out to ensure every section is free of debris.

Step 3: Rinse the Fresh Food Feeder

Rinse the Fresh Food Feeder with warm water until all soap and debris are gone. If there is any residue left, repeat step 2.

Step 4: Allow to Dry

Place the Fresh Food Feeder onto a drying rack and allow to dry completely before next use.

Bonus Step: Use the Top Rack of Your Dishwasher

Looking to sanitize or less manual labor?

For light to moderately soiled Fresh Food Feeders:  After Step 1, place the Fresh Food Feeder on the top-rack of your dishwasher and run it through a normal cycle.
